What is a Makers Studio?
What is a Makers Studio?
A maker studio is a dedicated
location for a community of artists, inventors, craftsmen, and hobbyists to
work on their projects. The location is a large building with several work areas that contain a varied
collection of materials, tools, and equipment.
A makers studio is also referred to as “maker spaces”, “maker labs”, or
“fab-labs.”
Members of a makers studio have the
opportunity to acquire new skills, expand their hobbies, and "to learn how to do that thing they always wanted to do".
The business model is similar to that
of a Gym, where members pay a monthly fee for access to the fitness equipment,
expertise, and facilities. Similarly, the
Makers Studio provides its members with access to the crafting tools and
equipment, teaching, and the facilities they need for all their individual projects.
Members of The Makers Studio Fayetteville will soon have access to a recording studio where they can create YouTube videos, podcasts, and
marketing materials for their own businesses. There will also be a “Makers Market” on the
premises where makers can sell their items to the public.
Our makers community is always growing, and as it grows, we will adapt to meet their needs. We are happy to hear your requests and suggestions for other hobbies and activities you are interested in.
